Joy Ragan is a native of Georgia and resident of Florida since 2002. She graduated from Georgia Southern University, Cum Laude with a B.A. in History at the age of 20. She then attended law school at Mercer University where she was a distinguished leader and student, chosen to represent the school on the national stage at the National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition in Minneapolis, Minnesota and, later as a coach and mentor to her peers. She is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia.
Ms. Ragan began her legal career in Florida in 2002 where she was awarded the Felony Advocate of the Year in 2003 and the Franklin Graham Award for Outstanding Legal Service in 2004. She currently focuses her practice in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Defense. She has extensive jury trial experience, having been to trial on cases from as simple as a Petit Theft to as complicated as First Degree Murder.
As a Family Law practitioner, Ms. Ragan understands the traumatic circumstances clients are facing. She will listen to the client's needs and explain the legal process in ways the client can understand. She has the knowledge and expertise to give an accurate assessment of the client's case and evaluate a plan to achieve the client's immediate needs and ultimate goals.
Ms. Ragan is actively involved in the community as President of the local chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, Orange County Bar Association, as a long standing member of Business Networking International, Maitland Chamber of Commerce and Woamtec. Joy is passionate about her work as an attorney and is committed to making clients happy with their journey through the legal system.
